Social Support
Boort District Health Day Center Services provide a range of activities through Planned Activity Groups and Social Supports for members of our community who may be older, isolated or require assistance to remain independent. We offer meaningful group social activities which draw on personal strengths, build capacity, encourage independence and involve our community.
These include:
Fun and Friends – Weekly group who meet for a meal and social support.
Ladies and Laughs – says it all! Ladies group meeting weekly to pursue a wide range of activities including outings.
Talk and Tucker – Monthly get-together over a meal to enjoy each other’s company.
Men on the Move – Activities enjoyed by older men and meet monthly.
Home Chat – Regular visits to client’s home by activity workers, with the aim of reducing isolation for people who are unable to get out and about.
Community Transport
The Community Care program provides a local and regional (Kerang and Bendigo) transport service for shopping/paying bills or attending medical appointments. This service operates using a hospital fleet car. The service is often provided by a volunteer driver.
